Yes. For an accurate and efficient evaluation, the proposed building site and septic site must be cleared of heavy brush, briars, thick undergrowth, and tall grasses. A property survey is also recommended; however, is not required for us to perform an evaluation.

A soil map is a full investigation of the proposed septic site where holes are bored every 100 feet or on complicated sites every 50 feet. This ensures different soil types are delineated based on their texture, structure, depth and color. Soils are given an estimated absorption rate of 10-75 minutes per inch based on those factors. The final product is then used to apply for your septic permit.

A preliminary soil evaluation determines if you have “suitable” soil that can be later mapped and presented to TDEC for a septic permit. This evaluation gives you ease of mind in a due diligence period, buying a parcel of land that is not exactly cleaned up enough to be mapped, a seller looking to add additional value to their property, and some counties require a preliminary exam prior to the area being grid staked for soil mapping.

While we are mapping we are looking for every possible option. If the soil does not meet requirements for a conventional system alternative systems are available. They are listed below:
